My Many Imperfections: Day 1

Welcome to Day 1 of My Many Imperfections!

Today I will be posting embarrassing (spelled it wrong again!) pictures of my NOT perfect housekeeping.  It's about to get real, people...

This is the constant chaos of my kitchen counter.

The first picture I took yesterday afternoon, and the second picture I took today.  If you come to my house, you'll probably see a cleaner counter.  However, if you come unannounced, this is what you will see.  I think it's funny that the two pictures are both annoyingly cluttered counters, yet all the items on it are different!  Why????  I have so many clutter areas in my house, and the truth is that I have learned not to care so much.  People, clutter is not perfect, but it works.  To add to my imperfections, here are some more annoyingly unorganized areas of my house for your viewing pleasure...
The "storage" closet.

The laundry room. (This is one of my biggest peeves)

The built-ins in my bedroom... just another place to put junk.

The built-ins in the family room... the banana peel is my favorite.

There are more... but I don't want to take up your whole day.  I hope this helps.  I'm putting it all out there.  People, I'm posting PICTURES on SOCIAL MEDIA that are IMPERFECT!  Phew, feels good.

Honestly, while I was walking around taking these pictures, I realized that there are more nasty areas than I even remembered and I was embarrassed (spelled it right this time!)... but I couldn't help but laugh while I took the pictures!  Why do we care so much??  Are we supposed to pretend that we don't LIVE in our houses?  Are we supposed to pretend that we have amazingly organized children who put everything back perfectly every time they use things?  Are we supposed to pretend that WE put things back perfectly every time WE use things??  Well, no more.  This is real life.  Chaos... but functioning just fine for now.  As a wise woman said yesterday in one of my Bible studies... "You can have a clean house when your kids are grown and gone."  Well put.  I shall wait for then to care too much!  ;)

  1. Thanks for sharing and getting real! My house looks way too similar and has so many awful cluttered chaotic areas. 🤷 It's life. I live here...such a good statement.
